Whether calling by phone, knocking on doors, or sending pre-approach letters, finding someone (anyone that resembles a viable prospect) to talk with these days is tough.
I was there with you (feeling all alone and blue) until I discovered a prime group of business owners who were eager to hear from me and talk with me.
This group consisted of my clients, vendors, business friends, and colleagues.
They were as grateful to hear from me as I was to chat with them.
After ten or so calls in which we each had an opportunity to vent and share our business experiences as a result of a suffering economy, I realized these people appreciated the opportunity to commiserate and share their stories of woe.
In my sales training and coaching at salesprocessguru.com, I teach that my prospect will tell me everything I need to know as soon as I stop talking and start listening.
So, just for the fun of it, pick up the phone and call your existing clients, vendors, business friends, and colleagues just to let them talk while you listen. Without you asking, I bet someone will say, “When all this settles down, let’s get together to talk about _____.”
P.S. If you’re looking for someone to talk to, I’m here.
